Argo Visual deliver world-class show for G20 heads of state to mark Indonesia’s presidency

The handing over of the presidency for the G20 international economic forum is always a prestigious affair, marked by a gala hosted by the state that is finishing its term overseeing the group. As Indonesia closed out their year-long presidency, they turned to projection mapping experts Argo Visual to put on a vibrant and immersive show using disguise vx4 and 4x4pro servers.

Alvin Antono, director at Argo Visual, realised that the show was an opportunity to make a real statement. In order to deliver ‘magnificent work’ for the prestigious audience, he encouraged his team to use disguise – a system many of the team were not accustomed to.

The stage was to consist of a wide staircase leading down to an elongated runway on which performers would sing and dance for the G20 leaders and a range of high-profile guests. The team needed to illuminate these spaces with videos of swirling colors and rushing rivers, while also delivering video across six walls that flanked either side of the venue.

An ambitious project using unfamiliar tech is always a daunting prospect, but the team found the project went smoother than expected. disguise’s system is more user-friendly than any other product on the market. The machine stability really helped us deliver.”

Supported by disguise’s engineers, the team completed set-up and projector alignment in just five days. The results were received emphatically. “This was the biggest event of 2022 in South East Asia,” says Antono, “and the response from the media has been outstanding. There has been so much praise for our work.”
